BullStop Terms of Use
Last updated: 3 September 2026
1. Introduction
These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the BullStop mobile application, website and related services (collectively, the "Services").
BullStop Limited
Company Number: 14002463
Registered in England and Wales
In these Terms, "BullStop", "we", "us" and "our" refer to BullStop Limited.
"You" and "your" refer to the individual or organisation using the Services.
By creating a BullStop account, accessing the Services or using the Services, you agree to these Terms.
If you are using BullStop on behalf of a company, organisation or other legal entity, you confirm that you have authority to accept these Terms on its behalf.
If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not use the Services.
2. About BullStop
BullStop provides content-moderation tools designed to help users identify and manage potentially abusive, offensive, harmful or otherwise unwanted content associated with supported third-party social-media accounts.
BullStop may use automated technologies, including machine-learning and artificial-intelligence techniques, to analyse content.
Depending on the features available, your settings and the permissions granted by the relevant third-party social-media platform, BullStop may enable you to:
- connect supported social-media accounts;
- analyse posts, comments, replies, messages or other supported content;
- identify or classify potentially inappropriate content;
- view moderation statistics and activity;
- flag content for review;
- hide or remove content;
- block or restrict accounts; and
- perform other moderation actions supported by BullStop and the relevant platform.
The exact features available may vary between platforms and may change over time.
3. Eligibility
You may use BullStop only if you are legally capable of entering into an agreement governing your use of the Services.
If you use BullStop on behalf of an organisation, you confirm that:
- you are authorised to act on behalf of that organisation;
- you have authority to connect any social-media accounts you connect to BullStop; and
- you have authority to instruct BullStop to perform moderation activities in relation to those accounts.
You must not use BullStop if applicable law, sanctions or other legal restrictions prohibit you from receiving or using the Services.
4. Your BullStop Account
Certain BullStop features require you to create an account.
You agree to:
- provide accurate information when creating your account;
- keep your account information reasonably up to date;
- protect your authentication credentials;
- take reasonable measures to prevent unauthorised access to your account; and
- notify us if you become aware of unauthorised access or a security compromise involving your BullStop account.
You are responsible for activity carried out through your account where that activity results from your actions or your failure to take reasonable steps to protect your account.
You must not knowingly allow another person to use your BullStop account in a manner that breaches these Terms.
5. Authentication
BullStop uses third-party identity and access-management technology to authenticate users.
Authentication may be provided through services such as Amazon Web Services (AWS) Cognito.
You must not:
- attempt to bypass BullStop authentication controls;
- obtain or attempt to obtain another person's authentication credentials;
- impersonate another person;
- create accounts using false identities for fraudulent or unlawful purposes; or
- interfere with authentication or account-security mechanisms.
6. Connecting Third-Party Social-Media Accounts
BullStop may allow you to connect supported third-party social-media accounts.
When connecting an account, you confirm that:
- you own the account or have permission from the account owner to connect it;
- you are authorised to grant BullStop the permissions you select;
- your use of BullStop in connection with that account is permitted by applicable law; and
- your use complies with the relevant platform's applicable terms and policies.
BullStop does not request your social-media password.
Authorisation is normally performed by the relevant third-party platform, which then provides BullStop with the permissions or authorisation necessary to access supported functionality.
You can revoke BullStop's access to a connected platform using functionality provided by BullStop or the relevant platform, where available.
7. Third-Party Platforms
BullStop is designed to interact with third-party social-media platforms through APIs, authorisation systems and other functionality made available by those platforms.
Third-party platforms operate independently from BullStop.
Your relationship with a third-party platform is governed by that platform's own:
- terms of service;
- privacy policy;
- community standards;
- API or developer terms; and
- other applicable policies.
BullStop does not control third-party platforms and cannot guarantee that any particular platform, API, permission, feature or integration will remain available.
A third-party platform may change, restrict or remove its API, permissions, functionality or access requirements at any time.
Such changes may affect BullStop functionality.
Where a feature becomes unavailable because of a change made by a third-party platform, we will take reasonable steps where practicable to adapt the Services, but we cannot guarantee continued availability of that feature.
8. Content You Authorise BullStop to Process
When you connect a supported account, you may authorise BullStop to access and process content associated with that account.
This may include:
- posts;
- comments;
- replies;
- messages where supported and authorised;
- usernames;
- account identifiers;
- content metadata; and
- other information made available through the relevant platform.
You retain any rights you have in content that you own.
These Terms do not transfer ownership of your content to BullStop.
You grant BullStop only those rights reasonably necessary to access, process, transmit, analyse and otherwise handle content for the purpose of providing, maintaining and securing the Services.
This permission lasts only for as long as reasonably necessary for those purposes, subject to our data-retention obligations and practices.
Our handling of personal data is described in our Privacy Policy.
9. Automated Content Moderation
BullStop uses automated technologies, which may include artificial intelligence and machine-learning systems, to analyse content.
Automated systems may produce:
- content classifications;
- moderation categories;
- confidence or risk indicators;
- moderation recommendations; and
- moderation actions based on settings selected by you.
Depending on your settings and the relevant platform's capabilities, BullStop may automatically take actions such as hiding or removing content or blocking or restricting an account.
Automated Systems Are Not Perfect
You acknowledge that automated moderation systems may make mistakes.
For example, BullStop may:
- classify acceptable content as inappropriate;
- fail to identify content you consider inappropriate;
- misunderstand context, humour, sarcasm or language;
- assign an incorrect moderation category; or
- take a moderation action that you would not have taken manually.
BullStop's classification results are provided as tools to assist with content moderation and should not be treated as definitive assessments of a person's intent, character, behaviour or legal liability.
10. Your Moderation Settings and Decisions
You are responsible for selecting moderation settings suitable for your intended use of BullStop.
Where BullStop permits automatic actions based on criteria or thresholds selected or enabled by you, you authorise BullStop to perform those actions on your behalf.
You should review your moderation settings periodically to ensure that they remain appropriate.
Where a moderation decision could have significant consequences for another person, you should consider whether human review is appropriate before relying solely upon an automated classification.
Nothing in BullStop constitutes legal advice or a legal determination that particular content is unlawful.
11. Acceptable Use
You may use BullStop only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms.
You must not use BullStop to:
- violate applicable law or regulation;
- access a social-media account without appropriate authority;
- monitor or process information that you are not legally entitled to access;
- harass, stalk, threaten or intimidate another person;
- unlawfully discriminate against another person;
- facilitate fraud or deception;
- distribute malware or malicious code;
- interfere with the security or operation of BullStop;
- obtain unauthorised access to BullStop systems or infrastructure;
- circumvent access controls, rate limits or security mechanisms;
- probe, scan or test vulnerabilities without our written permission;
- misuse APIs or authentication mechanisms;
- scrape BullStop or use automated means to access the Services except through functionality we expressly provide;
- reverse engineer, decompile or attempt to derive source code except where applicable law expressly permits this;
- use BullStop to infringe intellectual-property rights;
- use BullStop to facilitate illegal activity; or
- knowingly use BullStop in a way that breaches the rules of a connected third-party platform.
You must not use BullStop in a way that materially interferes with another person's use of the Services.
12. Responsible Use of BullStop
BullStop is intended to assist users with online content moderation.
You remain responsible for deciding how BullStop is configured and used in relation to accounts under your control.
You must consider applicable laws and contractual requirements when using moderation functionality.
You should not use BullStop's automated classifications as the sole basis for decisions that could have legal or similarly significant effects on an individual unless that use is lawful and appropriate safeguards are in place.
You are responsible for ensuring that your use of BullStop is suitable for your particular purpose.
13. Intellectual Property
BullStop and its associated technology are owned by or licensed to BullStop Limited.
This includes, where applicable:
- the BullStop name;
- BullStop logos and branding;
- software;
- application interfaces;
- source and object code;
- user-interface designs;
- databases;
- documentation;
- algorithms;
- models;
- graphics; and
- other content created by BullStop.
Except for the limited licence granted under these Terms, no rights in BullStop's intellectual property are transferred to you.
You may not use BullStop's trademarks, logos or branding in a way that suggests endorsement, partnership or affiliation without our permission.
14. Licence to Use BullStop
Subject to these Terms, BullStop grants you a limited, personal, revocable, non-exclusive and non-transferable licence to access and use the Services for their intended purpose.
Where you use BullStop on behalf of an organisation, the licence also permits use for that organisation's legitimate internal purposes.
This licence does not permit you to:
- sell, sublicense or commercially redistribute BullStop;
- copy substantial parts of the Services;
- create an unauthorised derivative version of the Services;
- remove proprietary notices;
- make BullStop available as your own service; or
- use BullStop's intellectual property except as permitted by these Terms or applicable law.
15. Feedback
If you voluntarily provide suggestions, ideas or feedback about BullStop, you permit us to use that feedback to develop and improve the Services.
You are not required to provide feedback.
Providing feedback does not transfer ownership of your existing intellectual property or confidential information to BullStop.
16. Service Availability
We aim to provide a reliable service, but we do not guarantee that BullStop will always be available without interruption.
The Services may occasionally be unavailable because of:
- planned maintenance;
- emergency maintenance;
- software updates;
- infrastructure failures;
- security incidents;
- internet or telecommunications failures;
- third-party platform outages;
- changes to third-party APIs;
- circumstances outside our reasonable control; or
- other operational reasons.
Where reasonably practicable, we will seek to minimise disruption.
17. Changes to the Services
We may change BullStop from time to time.
Changes may include:
- adding features;
- improving existing features;
- changing user interfaces;
- modifying technical architecture;
- updating security controls;
- removing functionality that is no longer viable;
- adapting to third-party platform changes; or
- making changes required by law or regulation.
Where a change materially affects a paid service or materially reduces functionality you have contracted to receive, any rights you have under applicable consumer law remain unaffected.
18. Beta, Experimental and Preview Features
BullStop may occasionally make beta, experimental, preview or early-access features available.
Where a feature is identified as beta, experimental or preview functionality, it may:
- contain errors;
- operate differently from final functionality;
- change without notice; or
- be withdrawn.
You should take this into account before relying on experimental functionality for important moderation activities.
19. Paid Services, Subscriptions and Usage Limits
19.1 Subscription Plans
BullStop may offer different subscription plans, including monthly and annual subscription options. Different plans may provide different features, functionality and usage allowances.
The price, billing period, features and applicable usage limits for a subscription plan will be displayed before you complete your purchase.
Where a purchase is made through the Apple App Store, Google Play or another authorised third-party payment provider, payment processing, renewal, cancellation and certain refund arrangements may also be subject to that provider's applicable terms.
19.2 Monthly Usage Limits
BullStop subscription plans may include monthly usage limits. These limits may vary depending on the subscription plan you select.
Usage limits may apply to features or activities such as:
- the number of connected social-media accounts;
- the number of messages, comments, posts or other items analysed;
- the number of moderation actions performed;
- the use of particular features or services; or
- other usage metrics specified for your subscription plan.
The specific limits applicable to your plan will be shown in the application, subscription information or other information presented to you when you purchase or manage your subscription.
Unless otherwise stated for a particular plan, monthly usage allowances reset at the beginning of each applicable monthly usage period and unused allowances do not carry over into a subsequent period.
19.3 Reaching a Usage Limit
If you reach a usage limit applicable to your subscription plan, access to the affected feature may be limited, paused or unavailable until your usage allowance resets or you move to a plan that provides a higher applicable allowance.
Where available, BullStop may give you the option to upgrade or change your subscription plan.
BullStop will not impose an additional usage charge solely because you exceed a usage limit unless the amount or method of calculating that charge has been clearly disclosed to you and you have agreed to it where required by applicable law.
19.4 Fair and Proper Use
Usage allowances are intended for normal use of the BullStop Services through the functionality we provide.
You must not attempt to circumvent, manipulate or interfere with usage limits, metering systems or other technical restrictions associated with your subscription.
We may take reasonable steps to prevent attempts to circumvent usage limits or misuse the Services, including restricting affected functionality or suspending access where appropriate.
19.5 Changes to Plans, Features and Usage Limits
BullStop may change the subscription plans it offers from time to time, including their features, usage allowances and availability.
We may introduce new plans, discontinue plans for new subscriptions, or modify the features and usage limits associated with a plan where reasonably necessary for reasons including:
- changes to the BullStop Services or technology;
- changes to third-party platform APIs or restrictions;
- changes in operating or infrastructure requirements;
- security or abuse-prevention requirements;
- legal or regulatory requirements; or
- the introduction of new or improved features.
Where a change materially affects an existing paid subscription, we will provide reasonable notice where required and will respect any cancellation, refund or other rights available to you under applicable law or the terms of the relevant app store or payment provider.
19.6 Changes to Prices
BullStop may change the prices of its subscription plans from time to time. Prices displayed for new subscriptions are therefore subject to change.
A price change will not retrospectively change an amount you have already paid for a completed billing period.
Where we change the price applicable to an existing subscription, the new price will apply only in accordance with applicable law and any applicable Apple App Store, Google Play or other payment-provider requirements.
Where required, you will be given reasonable advance notice of a price change and an opportunity to cancel the affected subscription before the new price applies.
If your subscription is purchased through a third-party app store or payment provider, that provider may require you to accept a price change before your subscription can continue at the new price.
19.7 Plan Availability
BullStop does not guarantee that a particular subscription plan will remain available indefinitely.
We may stop offering a plan to new customers or replace it with another plan. Where we propose to discontinue or materially change a plan used by existing subscribers, we will provide appropriate notice and information about the available options where required.
19.8 Consumer Rights
Nothing in this section limits any mandatory cancellation, refund, subscription or other consumer rights available to you under applicable law.
20. Privacy and Data Protection
Your privacy is important to us.
Our collection and processing of personal data is governed by the BullStop Privacy Policy, which explains:
- the information we process;
- why we process it;
- our use of service providers;
- how social-media content is processed;
- our approach to automated moderation;
- data retention;
- international transfers;
- your data-protection rights; and
- how to request account and data deletion.
The Privacy Policy is available at: https://bullstop.io/privacy
21. Account Suspension and Restrictions
We may temporarily restrict or suspend access to BullStop where reasonably necessary to:
- protect the security or integrity of the Services;
- investigate suspected unauthorised access;
- prevent fraud or abuse;
- comply with a legal obligation;
- respond to a request from an authorised public authority;
- protect other users or third parties; or
- address a serious or repeated breach of these Terms.
Where reasonably practicable and legally permitted, we will provide information about the reason for a restriction or suspension.
Where a breach is capable of being remedied, we may provide a reasonable opportunity to remedy it where appropriate.
We will not exercise these rights arbitrarily.
22. Termination by You
You may stop using BullStop at any time.
You may disconnect supported social-media accounts through BullStop or the relevant third-party platform where such functionality is available.
You may also request deletion of your BullStop account as explained in the Privacy Policy.
If you have a paid subscription, deleting your account may not automatically cancel a subscription administered by an app store or other third-party billing provider. You may need to cancel the subscription through the provider through which it was purchased.
23. Termination by BullStop
We may terminate an account where reasonably necessary because:
- you seriously or repeatedly breach these Terms;
- your use presents a material security risk;
- your use is unlawful;
- we are legally required to terminate access;
- continued provision of the Services would expose BullStop or another person to material legal risk; or
- we discontinue the relevant service.
Where reasonably practicable, we will provide appropriate notice before terminating an account unless immediate action is reasonably necessary for security, legal or abuse-prevention reasons.
Any mandatory rights you have under applicable consumer law remain unaffected.
24. Effect of Termination
When your BullStop account is terminated:
- your right to use the Services ends;
- connected-platform authorisations may be revoked or cease to be used;
- BullStop may delete or anonymise account information in accordance with its Privacy Policy and retention requirements; and
- provisions of these Terms that are intended by their nature to survive termination will continue to apply.
Termination of BullStop does not automatically terminate your account with any third-party social-media platform.
25. Third-Party Links and Services
BullStop may contain links to or interact with third-party websites, applications and services.
Those third parties operate independently and their services are governed by their own terms and privacy policies.
We are not responsible for the content, availability or independent activities of a third-party service except to the extent responsibility cannot lawfully be excluded.
26. Disclaimer About Moderation Results
BullStop is designed to assist with content moderation but cannot guarantee that:
- every offensive or harmful item will be detected;
- every classification will be accurate;
- every desired moderation action will successfully be completed;
- third-party platform content will always be available;
- a third-party platform will accept a requested moderation action; or
- moderation results will be appropriate for every user or situation.
Moderation results should therefore be considered in context.
BullStop does not provide legal, regulatory, medical, psychological or other professional advice.
A BullStop classification does not establish that content is unlawful or that its author has committed an offence or other wrongdoing.
27. Our Responsibility to Consumers
Nothing in these Terms excludes or restricts liability where it would be unlawful for us to do so.
This includes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited under applicable consumer-protection law.
If you are a consumer, you retain all mandatory statutory rights available to you.
We are responsible for losses that you suffer where those losses are a foreseeable result of our breach of these Terms or our failure to use reasonable care and skill.
We are not responsible for losses that were not reasonably foreseeable when you entered into these Terms.
Nothing in these Terms affects any rights or remedies you may have in relation to digital content or services under applicable consumer law.
28. Business Users
This section applies only where you use BullStop wholly or mainly for purposes relating to your trade, business, craft or profession.
To the extent permitted by law, BullStop Limited will not be liable to a business user for:
- loss of profits;
- loss of revenue;
- loss of anticipated savings;
- loss of business opportunity;
- loss of goodwill; or
- indirect or consequential loss,
except where such exclusion is prohibited by law.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability for:
- death or personal injury caused by negligence;
- fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation; or
- any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.
Any separate written agreement between BullStop and a business customer may contain additional or different liability provisions, in which case that agreement will apply to the extent of any inconsistency.
29. Your Responsibility for Breaches
You are responsible for losses reasonably incurred by BullStop as a direct result of your deliberate unlawful use of the Services or your material breach of these Terms.
Nothing in this section requires a consumer to compensate BullStop for losses for which the consumer would not be responsible under applicable law.
30. Events Outside Our Reasonable Control
We are not responsible for a failure or delay caused by circumstances outside our reasonable control.
These may include:
- widespread internet or telecommunications failures;
- major cloud-platform outages;
- third-party social-media platform outages;
- changes to or withdrawal of third-party APIs;
- natural disasters;
- government actions;
- civil emergencies; or
- other events that we could not reasonably prevent.
We will take reasonable steps to reduce the impact of such events where practicable.
31. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms where reasonably necessary, including to reflect:
- changes to BullStop;
- new functionality;
- changes to third-party platforms;
- security requirements;
- changes to our business model;
- legal or regulatory requirements; or
- improvements to clarity.
Where a change is material, we will take reasonable steps to notify affected users before the change takes effect where required.
We will not use this provision to make arbitrary changes that unfairly disadvantage consumers.
The date displayed at the top of these Terms identifies when they were most recently updated.
If a change requires your consent under applicable law, we will obtain that consent.
32. Transfer of These Terms
You may not transfer your BullStop account or your rights under these Terms to another person without our permission, except where applicable law gives you that right.
BullStop may transfer its rights and obligations under these Terms as part of a merger, acquisition, corporate restructuring or transfer of the BullStop business.
Where you are a consumer, we will not make a transfer that materially reduces your rights under these Terms.
33. No Waiver
If either you or BullStop does not immediately enforce a right under these Terms, that does not mean that the right has been waived.
A delay in exercising a right does not prevent that right from being exercised later.
34. Severability
If a court or other competent authority determines that part of these Terms is invalid, unlawful or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue to apply.
Where possible, the affected provision will be interpreted or adjusted only to the minimum extent necessary to make it valid and enforceable.
35. Entire Agreement
These Terms, together with the BullStop Privacy Policy and any additional terms expressly agreed between you and BullStop, form the agreement governing your use of the Services.
If you are a business customer with a separate written agreement with BullStop, that agreement may contain additional terms.
Where there is a conflict, the separately agreed written terms will apply to the extent specified in that agreement.
Nothing in this section excludes liability for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation.
36. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
If you are a consumer resident in another part of the United Kingdom or another country, you may also benefit from mandatory protections provided by the laws of the country or territory in which you live.
Nothing in these Terms removes rights that applicable law does not permit you to waive.
37. Disputes and Courts
We encourage you to contact us first if you have a concern or dispute regarding BullStop so that we can try to resolve it.
If you are a consumer, you may bring legal proceedings in any court that has jurisdiction under applicable law.
If you are a business user, the courts of England and Wales will have exclusive jurisdiction over disputes arising from or relating to these Terms unless a separate written agreement provides otherwise.
